So, in case you did not know, the country of Belize has at least 4 languages. There is English, supposedly the main language, but most people speak Spanish. There's also creol which is a condensed form of English very hard to understand, and then there's Garifuna which doesn't sound like anything I've ever heard before! The Garifuna culture comes from the southern part of Belize and to me they seem as close to an African culture as you can get. They had their Miss Garifuna pageant 2 weeks ago, and then celebrated Garifuna day. From drums, to singing, to some serious cultural dances and great food it was a day of cultural fun! There are a few of the girls below including Miss Garifuna herself, who won the contest.
The Mission to Love
Peace! I started this website over a year ago while on missions in Belize and thought I'd continue to share what God is doing now that I'm a full time youth minister in Georgia. This website is a public testimony of how the Lord is transforming my life through lay mission work. My heart's desire is to abide in His love and in so doing be a pure and holy vessel of His love to others. I hope you enjoy! To Him be all the Glory!
